Hi, my name is Carla and one thing I can tell you, I've moved a lot! After spending my childhood in Italy, I moved to Brazil where I grew up and spent most of my life. I currently live in Airdrie, Alberta and I confess my heart skips a beat for this place and the amazing people who live here.

I have a degree in Psychology from the FAPA University of São Paulo and a degree in Social Communication majoring in Marketing, Advertising and Graphic Design from the University Veiga de Almeida in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The beauty and "magic" of photography has fascinated and seduced me since my first experience capturing images and processing them in a darkroom. What a joy, what an amazing journey!

Yes, how lucky I am for having had the chance to go through all the steps of creating and developing images using film, a much more methodical approach. You think twice about everything that is in your frame. You do your best to get it right in the camera, you almost breath composition, quality of light, color, contrasts, and everything else that goes in the process of making a good, timeless and beautiful image.

Since then, my camera (now digital) has been an extension of my mind’s eye and I am constantly learning more about this art form.

I am so inspired by the beauty of candid, clean and elegant portraiture. It goes from simple portraits where I try my best to capture that smile of your soul, to the more artistic and stylish set ups. I photograph babies, kids, grads, adults, seniors, and also professional headshots.
